Dimitri Tsykalov is a Russian-born artist presently living and working in Paris. He is known for his unconventional works and mediums that he chooses to create his provoking pieces of art.
In his Skulls series, he uses an axe, a saw, and an electrical drill to carve creepy skulls into fresh fruits and vegetables.
After he finishes his carvings, he leaves the pieces in his studio a few days, until they rot, then he photographs his creations.
Tsykalov also uses flesh as a medium for his art which is meant to send powerful environmental messages like inhumane animal treatment, food waste, and world hunger.
