Tomasz Furmanek is a Bergen-based amateur kayaker and adventure photographer. He uses a helmet-mounted GoPro and a small Sony compact camera on the front of his kayak to capture the breathtaking beauty of fjords and waterways running throughout Norway.
Many of the stills were taken in calm waters to get the perfect reflection on the glassy water, as Tomasz explains: “The reflections and symmetry in the photos show the balance and calmness of experiencing nature from a kayak. The aim is to create the feeling of being in the photo and a wish to explore these locations. The kayak bow gives the viewer the point of view of a kayaker and draws the person into the photo. The triangle of the bow also acts like a vector, directing the focus of the viewer to the scenery above the tip of the kayak.”
