Dito Von Tease, an Italian digital artist, has created a project called “Idollz”, a word that merges the words “idol” and “dolls”. It is a creative series of portraits of contemporary pop celebrities represented as dolls. From actors and singers to world leaders, these characters have heavily influenced mankind, becoming idols of many people in the world.

With this series of portraits, the artist explores the meaning of contemporary simulacra and seeks to show the importance they have in the actual era.

‘In contemporary society, the cult of celebrity influences the identity, the choices and the lives of many people. The mass media are the main creators and amplifiers of this imaginary, following the intentions of the industry of music, film, fine arts, politics, religions…‘ the artist explains.
