Intricate Hand Drawn Illustrations By Rafael Araujo Blend Math With Nature
Rafael Araujo is an architect and illustrator born in 1957 in Caracas, Venezuela.
For over 40 years he creates intricate three-dimensional hand drawn illustrations in which he beautifully blends mathematics with nature. To create his scientific works of art, Rafael doesn’t use a computer or modern technology, but only a pencil, a compass, a protractor and acrylic paint. It can take him up to 100 hours to create a single composition!
Rafael’s primary source of inspiration comes directly from nature. Since he was a teenager he started to observe intelligent patterns and beautiful designs in the work of nature which he then exposed in his works.
Recently, many followers of Rafael’s work have been asking him for prints to color. From this came the idea to create a beautiful coloring book with his best illustrations which is currently funding on Kickstarter.
The book entitled ‘Golden Ratio’ is so special not only for Rafael’s wonderful illustrations but because it will enable all of us to reconnect with nature and the awesome wonder of the natural world around us. The book will also allow people to color the illustrations and create works of art in their own style.
