UK-based artist Omid Asadi wants to give another life to naturally fallen leaves, carving into them delicate artworks using a craft knife and a needle.
From depictions of animals and flowers to more intricate scenes and celebrities portraits, the artist even recreated Edvard Munch’s painting ‘The Scream’ on a leaf.
Omid explains on his website his leaf cutting process: ‘I collect beautiful leaves, dries and presses the leaves before sketching out complicated patterns to apply to each one. After sketching, I start cutting with a knife. Each piece can take between a week and two months to complete as a slight slip of the hand could rip the surface and destroy hours of work.’
